2015 Hungarian Grand Prix In Pictures

The Hungarian Grand Prix produced another thrilling and exciting Formula 1 race, with Sebastian Vettel scoring his second win of the 2015 season.

Friday

Lewis Hamilton got his weekend off to the best possible start, by setting the pace in opening practice on Friday morning.

Red Bull showed strong pace on Friday, but Daniel Ricciardo lost track time towards the end of FP2 after his engine failed.

Saturday

McLaren showed positive progress during all three practice sessions, with largely trouble-free running at the Hungaroring.

Hamilton made it a clean sweep in practice, setting the pace in the final session on Saturday morning.

Marcus Ericsson was one of five drivers eliminated from qualifying in Q1. He finished just behind Jenson Button, and ahead of team-mate Felipe Nasr, Roberto Merhi and Will Stevens.

Ricciardo and Red Bull stayed on the medium tyre for the Australian's final run in Q1, but he narrowly made it through to the second session.

Fernando Alonso's car lasted just a few minutes before breaking down in Q2. He helped push his car back to the McLaren garage after it ground to a halt at the pit lane entry, but was eliminated.

Nico Hulkenberg also found himself in the Q2 drop-zone, qualifying 11th - ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr, Sergio Perez, Pastor Maldonado and Alonso.

Valtteri Bottas got the maximum from his car to qualify sixth, ahead of Daniil Kvyat, Felipe Massa, Max Verstappen and Romain Grosjean.

Hamilton dominated qualifying to take pole position, ahead of Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel, Ricciardo and Kimi Raikkonen.

Sunday

Vettel and Raikkonen had strong starts to move into first and second, as Hamilton dropped to fourth.

Rosberg challenged Raikkonen for second but failed to find a way through, while Hamilton went off later in the lap and fell to 10th.

Hamilton spent several laps stuck behind Massa's Williams, but soon started to make progress.

We witnessed some great, close battles in the early laps. Nasr and Maldonado scrapped in the midfield, before the Lotus driver made contact with Perez.

The two Red Bull drivers swapped places in the early stages, as Ricciardo made progress after a difficult first lap.

Alonso actually enjoyed some good battles in the midfield fight, but at the same time stayed out of trouble, which helped him move up the order.

Hulkenberg's front wing failure brought out the Safety Car and mixed things up, closing up the field.

The two Mercedes drivers had looked set to benefit from the Safety Car, but on the restart Hamilton and Ricciardo made contact, dropping the Englishman down the order.

Ricciardo and Rosberg then made contact in the closing stages, giving the former a puncture and causing both to pit for repairs.

Out front, it was a faultless drive from Vettel to score his second win for Ferrari and the 41st of his career. Ferrari showed strong pace throughout the race, and he stayed well clear of the madness behind to take victory.

Despite a 10-second time penalty, Kvyat picked up his first podium with second place. Ricciardo was third.

All three drivers dedicated their results to Jules Bianchi, a touching tribute after what was an emotional weekend.
