The French manufacturer returns to the sport as a works outfit for the first time since 2010, after taking over the Lotus team in December.

The RS16 was revealed at a launch event in Paris, sporting a striking black livery with yellow accents. However, the design will change before the 2016 season opener in Australia next month.

Former McLaren driver Kevin Magnussen was officially confirmed, replacing Pastor Maldonado, who confirmed his exit from the team on Monday. He will partner rookie Jolyon Palmer.

Meanwhile reigning GP3 champion Esteban Ocon has been announced as Renault's reserve driver.

Bob Bell, who left Manor late last year, has been appointed as the team's chief technical officer, while ART Grand Prix boss Frederic Vasseur has been confirmed as its new racing director.

The RS16 features branding from several new sponsors, including Infiniti, Bell & Ross, Devialet and Jack & Jones.

Renault has also confirmed a new driver academy, helping to develop the talent of young racers who are moving up the motorsport ladder.

Four drivers have been announced so far: Formula Renault 3.5 champion Oliver Rowland, Eurocup and Alps Formula Renault 2.0 title holder Jack Aitken, FR 2.0 NEC winner Louis Deletraz and runner-up Kevin Joerg.
